With the introduction of FileMaker Pro 12.0 to the desktop, FileMaker have also released new versions of thier Mobile Apps for iPad and iPhone, FileMaker Go.
Previously available at business app pricing of around £10 for the iPhone version and £24 for the iPad, they are now available free, but of course you have to have a copy of FileMaker Pro to make them work.
But that is no bad thing, as with the latest version there are lots of free templates to help you create great looking databases to manage your customers, orders, invoicing, meetings - in fact more or less anything you can think of.
FileMaker is relativeley easy to use as database managment products go, and by turning on network sharing and tweaking your firewall to allow internet access you can easily make all your data available anywhere you have an internet connection on your mobile device.
With FileMaker Pro costing just £219 for a single user that allows up to 5 connections on the free mobile app you could easily transform the way your business works with a bit of lateral thinking and a small software investment.
Of course if you want an all singing and dancing solution that can become the cornerstone of the way that you work you may need to involve a specialist like me, but that may not be as expensive as you think either!

Does anybody realise that Facebook stock has actually fallen by nearly 30% since it went public two weeks ago? That's an amazingly large fall in such a short space of time, and it's quite obvious that the hype surrounding the launch of the stock was just that ... hype. I believe that some American observers referred to Facebook stock buyers as "mugs", and that some shareholders have filed lawsuits that said the company and its underwriters overpriced Facebook at $38 a share - brilliant hindsight.
